Water Park Near Bangalore Airport: Water World at Fun World

Water World at Fun World is about 33 km from Bangalore Airport, 50 to 75 minutes down NH44 to Palace Grounds. The pools run from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The ₹999 online ticket includes the wave pool, the lazy river, the slides and every dry ride at Fun World until 7 PM.

If you land at Kempegowda International Airport on a hot morning with the kids and a day to fill, Water World at Fun World is one of the easiest big outings to reach. It's about 33 km straight down NH44 to Palace Grounds, on the airport side of the city.

It's also the nearest large water park for people who live along the airport corridor, in Bettahalasur, Bagalur and Sadahalli, where the new layouts have plenty of heat and not much else to do with a Sunday.

The pools run from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM: a wave pool, a lazy river, multi-lane slides and splash pools, with lifeguards on every attraction. The dry rides stay open until 7 PM on the same ticket.

The slides, pools and rides at Water World

Start with the wave pool, then the lazy river when you want a break without getting out of the water. For bigger thrills there are the multi-lane slides, the Shark Ride and the Tsunami, which is the park's signature ride and has the longest queue. Younger children have splash pools and a separate toddler zone.

Every water attraction has trained lifeguards, and there's cabana seating for anyone sitting out a round.

Leaving Bangalore Airport: plan around the 4:30 PM closing

Water World is open from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM every day, while the dry rides run until 7 PM. That 4:30 closing is the single biggest reason visitors feel short-changed, so work backwards from it. From Bangalore Airport, leave by 9:15 AM to be at the gate for opening.

If you're coming from the airport, wear light clothes and pack swimwear in your hand luggage. Changing rooms and lockers are on site, but large suitcases should go to your hotel first.

A day out for visiting family

If relatives have flown in and you're collecting them from the airport, Water World is an easy first-day outing, because it's on the airport side of the city. Go straight down NH44 and you'll be at Palace Grounds in about an hour.

One ticket covers both parks, so the family members who don't want to get wet aren't left out. They can ride the Carousel, the Cycle Monorail and the Mini Train, or sit in the cabana seating by the pools. Seniors aged 60 and above pay ₹799 online. More on having both parks on one ticket.

From Kempegowda International Airport, take NH44 south, the same road you'd take into the city anyway, through Hebbal to Mekhri Circle, then onto Jayamahal Road. It's 50 minutes with clear roads and up to 75 at busy times. City-bound airport buses use Bellary Road through Hebbal; get off near Mekhri Circle and an auto covers the rest. Check the route number at the airport bus counter before boarding.

Before you leave Bangalore Airport: the dress code and what to pack

The dress code is strict, and it catches people out. 100% nylon swimwear is mandatory. Burkhas, sarees, churidars and pyjamas aren't permitted on the slides. If you forget, swimwear is sold on site, but it's cheaper to bring your own.

• Nylon swimwear, a towel and a full change of clothes
• A ₹500 note for the locker deposit. It's refunded when you return the key, and it's cash only: no UPI, no cards.
• Food and water if you like, since outside food is allowed (alcohol isn't)
• A sealed bag for wet clothes on the way home

Is Water World right for young children?

A child's ticket covers anyone between 80 cm and 140 cm, and children under 80 cm go free. Height matters inside too. Some slides need 122 cm (48 inches) or more, and each ride posts its own limit at the queue, so check before a younger child gets their hopes up. The splash pools, the lazy river and the toddler zone have no such worry.

Your Water World ticket is also your Fun World ticket: both parks, unlimited rides, all day. Book online and it's ₹999 an adult, or ₹799 for children between 80 and 140 cm and seniors aged 60 and above. Walk up to the counter and an adult pays ₹1,199 on a weekday or ₹1,499 at the weekend. Under 80 cm is free, and GST is included.
