Water Park Near Jayanagar: Water World at Fun World

Water World at Fun World is about 12 km from Jayanagar, 35 to 55 minutes by road or a two-line metro ride to Cubbon Park. Expect a wave pool, a lazy river, the Tsunami and multi-lane slides, with lifeguards on each, from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The same ₹999 online ticket covers 100+ dry rides.

Jayanagar families who want a water park day have two choices: drive out of the city, or go to Water World at Fun World, about 12 km north at Palace Grounds. The second is closer and cheaper. It also lets you bring lunch from home, which in Jayanagar usually means the question is settled.

The metro works too. Take the Green Line from Jayanagar to Majestic, three Purple Line stops to Cubbon Park, and a short auto.

Water World runs from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM with a wave pool, a lazy river and splash pools for younger children, with trained lifeguards throughout. The dry rides stay open until 7 PM on the same ticket.

What's inside Water World

There are about 45 water attractions. For thrills, there's the Tsunami (ride it early, before the queue builds) and the Shark Ride. For racing your friends to the bottom, there are multi-lane slides. For floating, there's the wave pool and the lazy river, and for small children, splash pools and a toddler zone.

Lifeguards are posted at every water attraction. Cabana seating at Water World gives parents and grandparents a shaded place to sit with the bags.

Timing it from Jayanagar: the pools close at 4:30 PM

Water World is open from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM every day, while the dry rides run until 7 PM. That 4:30 closing is the single biggest reason visitors feel short-changed, so work backwards from it. From Jayanagar, leave by 9:30 AM to be at the gate for opening.

From Jayanagar, go on a weekday if you can. The pools are quieter, the changing rooms have no queue, and the counter rate is ₹1,199 rather than the weekend ₹1,499 (online is ₹999 any day).

Keeping young swimmers safe

Jayanagar parents tend to ask the same first question: is it safe for the kids? Trained lifeguards are on duty at every water attraction. Every slide posts its own height limit at the queue, and some need 122 cm (48 inches) or more, so shorter children are steered to rides that suit them.

By car, head north past Lalbagh and through the city centre, then up Queen's Road and through Cantonment to Jayamahal Road. It's 35 minutes early on a Sunday and closer to 55 on a Saturday afternoon. By metro, take the Green Line from Jayanagar to Majestic, change to the Purple Line for three stops to Cubbon Park, and take an auto for the last 3.4 km.

Dress code, lockers and what to pack

The dress code is strict, and it catches people out. 100% nylon swimwear is mandatory. Burkhas, sarees, churidars and pyjamas aren't permitted on the slides. If you forget, swimwear is sold on site, but it's cheaper to bring your own.

• A ₹500 note for the locker deposit. It's refunded when you return the key, and it's cash only: no UPI, no cards.
• Food and water if you like, since outside food is allowed (alcohol isn't)
• A sealed bag for wet clothes on the way home

One ticket, two parks. The online rate is always the lowest: ₹999 for adults and ₹799 for children (80 to 140 cm) and senior citizens. Counter prices are higher, at ₹1,199 for an adult on weekdays and ₹1,499 at weekends and on holidays. Children below 80 cm aren't charged, and every price includes 18% GST.
