Water Park Near Malleshwaram: Water World, 15 Minutes Away

Water World at Fun World is about 4 km from Malleshwaram, a 12 to 20 minute drive past Sadashivanagar to Palace Grounds. The pools run from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The ₹999 online ticket includes the wave pool, the lazy river, the slides and every dry ride at Fun World until 7 PM.

Malleshwaram's summer afternoons are long, and the closest place to cool off properly is only 15 minutes away. Water World is the water park half of Fun World at Palace Grounds, just past Sadashivanagar.

It's been there long enough that many Malleshwaram parents went as children. Today it has a wave pool, a lazy river, multi-lane slides and splash pools, with lifeguards on every water attraction and cabana seating for the adults who'd rather watch.

The pools run from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and because the drive is so short you can be there right at opening. Your ticket also covers the dry rides until 7 PM, so a late lunch and a Carousel ride before heading home is easy to fit in.

What you'll find at Water World

There are about 45 water attractions. For thrills, there's the Tsunami (ride it early, before the queue builds) and the Shark Ride. For racing your friends to the bottom, there are multi-lane slides. For floating, there's the wave pool and the lazy river, and for small children, splash pools and a toddler zone.

Lifeguards are posted at every water attraction. Cabana seating at Water World gives parents and grandparents a shaded place to sit with the bags.

How to get six hours in the water from Malleshwaram

The pools open at 10:30 AM and close at 4:30 PM, two and a half hours before the rest of the park. From Malleshwaram, allow 12–20 min on the road and leave by 10 AM. Arriving at noon costs you a quarter of your water time.

Malleshwaram is close enough to go home for lunch, but the ticket covers one entry, so it's usually easier to pack food. Fun World allows outside food, and a steel dabba of curd rice beats the queue at the food counters.

Taking grandparents to Water World

Plenty of Malleshwaram families go to the water park with grandparents along, and it works better than you'd expect. Seniors aged 60 and above pay ₹799 online. They don't have to go on a single slide to enjoy the day: the lazy river is gentle, the cabana seating by the pools gives them shade and a view of the grandchildren, and the food courts are close by.

From Malleshwaram, drive up to Sankey Road, pass Sadashivanagar and the tank, and head for Mekhri Circle and Jayamahal Road. It's 12 minutes on a quiet morning and rarely more than 20. The metro technically works (Green Line to Majestic, Purple Line to Cubbon Park, then an auto), but for a trip this short, an auto straight from your gate is faster.

What to bring, and what you can't wear

Two things trip people up at the gate. First, swimwear must be 100% nylon. Cotton T-shirts, sarees, churidars, pyjamas and burkhas aren't allowed on the slides. Second, the locker deposit is ₹500 in cash only. The locker itself is free and you get the money back, but UPI won't work.

Beyond that, pack a towel and dry clothes, sunscreen, and lunch if you want to save money, since outside food is allowed. Changing rooms get busiest between 11:30 and 1, so arriving at opening helps.

Is Water World right for young children?

A child's ticket covers anyone between 80 cm and 140 cm, and children under 80 cm go free. Height matters inside too. Some slides need 122 cm (48 inches) or more, and each ride posts its own limit at the queue, so check before a younger child gets their hopes up. The splash pools, the lazy river and the toddler zone have no such worry.

There's no separate water park ticket. One ticket covers Water World and the whole amusement park, with unlimited rides all day. Online, it's ₹999 for an adult and ₹799 for a child (80 to 140 cm) or senior citizen aged 60 and above. At the counter, adults pay ₹1,199 on weekdays and ₹1,499 at weekends and on public holidays. Children under 80 cm go free. All prices include 18% GST.
