Water Park Near Koramangala: Water World, 12 km Away

Water World at Fun World is about 12 km from Koramangala, a 35 to 55 minute drive via Richmond Road to Palace Grounds. It's open from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with a wave pool, a lazy river, multi-lane slides and around 45 water attractions. One ticket, ₹999 online for an adult, also covers all the Fun World rides until 7 PM.

Koramangala doesn't lack things to do. It lacks space, and water. When it's 34 degrees in April and the apartment pool is full of other people's children, Water World at Fun World is about 12 km away at Palace Grounds, 35 to 55 minutes by cab.

It's a common pick for groups of friends and colleagues from the startup blocks, and for young families from ST Bed Layout and Ejipura.

What's inside Water World

Water World is the water park half of Fun World, with around 45 water attractions on the same 24-acre site. The big ones are the Tsunami, which has the park's longest queue at about 45 minutes at busy times, and the Shark Ride. Around them are multi-lane slides, a wave pool, a lazy river and splash pools for younger children.

Trained lifeguards are on duty at every water attraction. There's cabana seating for anyone who'd rather watch, and live music and DJ sets on some days.

How to get six hours in the water from Koramangala

Water World is open from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM every day, while the dry rides run until 7 PM. That 4:30 closing is the single biggest reason visitors feel short-changed, so work backwards from it. From Koramangala, leave by 9:30 AM to be at the gate for opening.

For a Koramangala group, book one cab for everyone and bring a cooler of food from home. Outside food is allowed, and splitting one large cab both ways usually costs less than two autos.

A birthday at the water park

Koramangala does a lot of birthday brunches. A water park birthday is a change, and it can be cheaper than it sounds, because the birthday person enters free on the day itself with ID showing the date.

By cab, the route runs up Hosur Road and Richmond Road into the centre, then Queen's Road and Cantonment to Jayamahal Road. It takes 35 minutes on an early Sunday and closer to an hour once Richmond Road fills. Koramangala has no metro line of its own; the workaround is an auto to MG Road or Trinity, the Purple Line to Cubbon Park, and an auto from there. For most groups, a single cab is simpler.

What to bring, and what you can't wear

The dress code is strict, and it catches people out. 100% nylon swimwear is mandatory. Burkhas, sarees, churidars and pyjamas aren't permitted on the slides. If you forget, swimwear is sold on site, but it's cheaper to bring your own.

• Nylon swimwear, a towel and a full change of clothes
• A ₹500 note for the locker deposit. It's refunded when you return the key, and it's cash only: no UPI, no cards.
• Food and water if you like, since outside food is allowed (alcohol isn't)
• A sealed bag for wet clothes on the way home

Water World with kids

A child's ticket covers anyone between 80 cm and 140 cm, and children under 80 cm go free. Height matters inside too. Some slides need 122 cm (48 inches) or more, and each ride posts its own limit at the queue, so check before a younger child gets their hopes up. The splash pools, the lazy river and the toddler zone have no such worry.
