Water Park Near KR Puram: Water World at Fun World, 13 km Away

Water World at Fun World is about 13 km from KR Puram, 40 to 60 minutes down Old Madras Road or a direct Purple Line ride and an auto. It's open from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with a wave pool, a lazy river, multi-lane slides and around 45 water attractions. One ticket, ₹999 online for an adult, also covers all the Fun World rides until 7 PM.

For families in Ramamurthy Nagar, Kasturi Nagar and Battarahalli, a water park day usually starts with the question of how bad Tin Factory will be. Water World at Fun World gives you a way around it: the Purple Line from KR Puram station runs straight to Cubbon Park, a short auto ride from the gate.

If you drive, it's about 13 km and 40 to 60 minutes along Old Madras Road.

The pools are open from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM with a wave pool, lazy river, multi-lane slides and splash pools for the youngest, all with lifeguards on duty. The dry rides run on the same ticket until 7 PM.

The slides, pools and rides at Water World

There are about 45 water attractions. For thrills, there's the Tsunami (ride it early, before the queue builds) and the Shark Ride. For racing your friends to the bottom, there are multi-lane slides. For floating, there's the wave pool and the lazy river, and for small children, splash pools and a toddler zone.

Lifeguards are posted at every water attraction. Cabana seating at Water World gives parents and grandparents a shaded place to sit with the bags.

Leaving KR Puram: plan around the 4:30 PM closing

The pools open at 10:30 AM and close at 4:30 PM, two and a half hours before the rest of the park. From KR Puram, allow 40–60 min on the road and leave by 9:30 AM. Arriving at noon costs you a quarter of your water time.

From KR Puram, the metro is the smart way home after a water park day. Tin Factory at 5 PM is not where you want to sit with tired, damp kids. Pack wet swimwear in a sealed bag and you're fine on the train.

What happens if it rains?

East Bengaluru gets heavy afternoon showers from June onwards, and it's worth knowing the park's policy before you go. There's no refund, cancellation or date change for rain or any natural calamity.

In practice, a passing shower rarely ends a water park day, since you're already wet. Lightning or a heavy storm can pause the slides, though. If the forecast for your day looks bad, book closer to the date rather than weeks ahead. The metro from KR Puram also means a sudden downpour won't leave you stuck on a flooded Old Madras Road. By road, it's Old Madras Road west through Tin Factory and Ulsoor, then north through Cantonment to Jayamahal Road. Allow 40 minutes on a good morning and an hour when Tin Factory is backed up, which is often. By metro, KR Puram station is on the Purple Line: ride straight to Cubbon Park and take a 3.4 km auto from there.

What to bring, and what you can't wear

Pack for the rules, not just the sun:

• 100% nylon swimwear for everyone going in the water. Sarees, churidars, pyjamas and burkhas aren't permitted on the slides, and swimwear is sold on site if you forget.
• A ₹500 note for the locker deposit. It's cash only and refunded when you return the key.
• A towel, a change of clothes and a bag for the wet things
• Your own food if you like. It's allowed; alcohol isn't.

Is Water World right for young children?

Children under 80 cm enter free, and a child ticket covers 80 cm to 140 cm. Some of the bigger slides need a height of 122 cm, so shorter children will spend more time in the splash pools and the wave pool's shallow end. There's a dedicated toddler zone, and lifeguards are posted at every water attraction.

Tickets: one price, two parks

One ticket, two parks. The online rate is always the lowest: ₹999 for adults and ₹799 for children (80 to 140 cm) and senior citizens. Counter prices are higher, at ₹1,199 for an adult on weekdays and ₹1,499 at weekends and on holidays. Children below 80 cm aren't charged, and every price includes 18% GST.
