Water Park Near Electronic City: Water World at Fun World

Water World at Fun World is about 24 km from Electronic City, 60 to 90 minutes by car up the Elevated Expressway and into the city. The pools run from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The ₹999 online ticket includes the wave pool, the lazy river, the slides and every dry ride at Fun World until 7 PM.

Electronic City summers are long and the apartment pools get crowded. Water World at Fun World is the city's central water park, about 24 km north at Palace Grounds. The Elevated Expressway gets you to Silk Board quickly, and the rest is the usual city crawl, 60 to 90 minutes in all.

Because the pools close at 4:30 PM, the drive time really matters here. Leave Electronic City by 9 AM and you'll get close to the full six hours: wave pool, lazy river, multi-lane slides and around 45 water attractions, with lifeguards throughout.

After the pools close, your ticket still covers the dry rides until 7 PM, which is also when Hosur Road traffic starts to ease.

The slides, pools and rides at Water World

Start with the wave pool, then the lazy river when you want a break without getting out of the water. For bigger thrills there are the multi-lane slides, the Shark Ride and the Tsunami, which is the park's signature ride and has the longest queue. Younger children have splash pools and a separate toddler zone.

How to get six hours in the water from Electronic City

Water World keeps shorter hours than the rest of Fun World: 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. To get the full six hours from Electronic City, leave by 9 AM. Your ticket still covers the dry rides until 7 PM, so there's no rush to leave once the pools shut.

From Electronic City, don't leave when the pools close at 4:30. Stay for the dry rides until 7. You'll miss the worst of the southbound evening traffic, and you've already paid for the rides.

Running late from Electronic City? It's still worth it

Silk Board doesn't always co-operate, and some days you'll reach Palace Grounds at noon instead of 10:30. That still leaves four and a half hours in Water World before the pools close at 4:30, plus the dry rides until 7.

The ticket price is the same whenever you arrive, so a late start costs you time, not money. Make the most of it by heading straight for the slides you care about most, since the Tsunami's queue is longest in the afternoon, and eating a packed lunch rather than queuing at the food counters. Take the Elevated Expressway up to Silk Board. That first stretch is quick. Then Hosur Road and Richmond Road into the centre, and through Cantonment to Jayamahal Road. The slow bit is everything after Silk Board: allow 60 minutes early on a weekend and 90 on a weekday. The metro does connect, but it takes three lines (Yellow to RV Road, Green to Majestic, Purple to Cubbon Park) plus an auto, so most people drive.

Before you leave Electronic City: the dress code and what to pack

The dress code is strict, and it catches people out. 100% nylon swimwear is mandatory. Burkhas, sarees, churidars and pyjamas aren't permitted on the slides. If you forget, swimwear is sold on site, but it's cheaper to bring your own.

• Nylon swimwear, a towel and a full change of clothes
• A ₹500 note for the locker deposit. It's refunded when you return the key, and it's cash only: no UPI, no cards.
• Food and water if you like, since outside food is allowed (alcohol isn't)
• A sealed bag for wet clothes on the way home

Is Water World right for young children?

Yes, with one thing to check: height. Some slides require 122 cm (48 inches) or more, and every ride posts its own limit at the queue. Below that, the splash pools, lazy river and toddler zone keep little ones busy. Children under 80 cm go free, and those between 80 cm and 140 cm pay the child rate.

One ticket, two parks. The online rate is always the lowest: ₹999 for adults and ₹799 for children (80 to 140 cm) and senior citizens. Counter prices are higher, at ₹1,199 for an adult on weekdays and ₹1,499 at weekends and on holidays. Children below 80 cm aren't charged, and every price includes 18% GST.
