Water Park Near Tumkur: Water World at Fun World, Bengaluru

Water World at Fun World in Bengaluru is about 70 km from Tumkur, a 1 hr 45 min to 2 hr 30 min drive down NH48. Expect a wave pool, a lazy river, the Tsunami and multi-lane slides, with lifeguards on each, from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The same ₹999 online ticket covers 100+ dry rides.

From Tumakuru, the nearest large water park is Water World at Fun World, about 70 km away at Palace Grounds in Bengaluru. It's a full day trip, 1 hr 45 min to 2 hr 30 min each way down NH48, so it's worth planning around the pool timings.

Water World opens at 10:30 AM and closes at 4:30 PM. Leave Tumakuru by 8 AM and you'll get close to the full six hours.

Inside, there's a wave pool, a lazy river, multi-lane slides and around 45 water attractions, with lifeguards on every one. The same ticket covers the amusement park rides until 7 PM, though from Tumakuru most families head home around 5.

What's inside Water World

Start with the wave pool, then the lazy river when you want a break without getting out of the water. For bigger thrills there are the multi-lane slides, the Shark Ride and the Tsunami, which is the park's signature ride and has the longest queue. Younger children have splash pools and a separate toddler zone.

Leaving Tumkur: plan around the 4:30 PM closing

Water World is open from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM every day, while the dry rides run until 7 PM. That 4:30 closing is the single biggest reason visitors feel short-changed, so work backwards from it. From Tumkur, leave by 8 AM to be at the gate for opening.

From Tumakuru, the day is long, so bring everything: nylon swimwear, a towel, a change of clothes, lunch (outside food is allowed) and a ₹500 note for the locker deposit. Buying swimwear on site for a whole family adds up.

A college group water day from Tumakuru

Water World is a popular trip for college groups from Tumakuru, and it can be done cheaply. The 30STUDENTOFF code gives 30% off, but only with an original, physical school or college ID shown at the counter. A photo on your phone won't be accepted, so remind everyone the night before.

By car, it's NH48 all the way in through Nelamangala, then the elevated highway over Peenya to Yeshwanthpur, Mekhri Circle and Jayamahal Road. Allow 1 hr 45 min early on a weekend and up to 2 hr 30 min on a busy day. Without a car, trains from Tumakuru reach Yeshwanthpur and KSR Bengaluru, and KSRTC buses run to Majestic. From Majestic it's three Purple Line stops to Cubbon Park and a short auto.

What to bring, and what you can't wear

The dress code is strict, and it catches people out. 100% nylon swimwear is mandatory. Burkhas, sarees, churidars and pyjamas aren't permitted on the slides. If you forget, swimwear is sold on site, but it's cheaper to bring your own.

Some of the bigger slides need a height of 122 cm, so shorter children will spend more time in the splash pools and the wave pool's shallow end. One ticket, two parks. The online rate is always the lowest: ₹999 for adults and ₹799 for children (80 to 140 cm) and senior citizens. Counter prices are higher, at ₹1,199 for an adult on weekdays and ₹1,499 at weekends and on holidays. Children below 80 cm aren't charged, and every price includes 18% GST.
