Water Park Near Whitefield: Water World at Fun World by Metro

Water World at Fun World is about 21 km from Whitefield, and the Purple Line runs straight from Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Cubbon Park, 3.4 km from the gate. The pools run from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The ₹999 online ticket includes the wave pool, the lazy river, the slides and every dry ride at Fun World until 7 PM.

Whitefield has plenty of apartment pools, but a wave pool, a lazy river and 45-odd water attractions are a different afternoon. The nearest large water park you can reach without driving is Water World at Fun World, and the Purple Line makes it simple: Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Cubbon Park on one train, then a short auto ride.

By road it's 21 km and anywhere from an hour to 90 minutes. By metro it's about an hour door to gate, and the time on the train is time you're not stuck at the Hoodi junction.

Water World runs from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Leave Whitefield by 9:30 and you'll be in the water close to opening.

The slides, pools and rides at Water World

There are about 45 water attractions. For thrills, there's the Tsunami (ride it early, before the queue builds) and the Shark Ride. For racing your friends to the bottom, there are multi-lane slides. For floating, there's the wave pool and the lazy river, and for small children, splash pools and a toddler zone.

Lifeguards are posted at every water attraction. Cabana seating at Water World gives parents and grandparents a shaded place to sit with the bags.

Leaving Whitefield: plan around the 4:30 PM closing

Water World is open from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM every day, while the dry rides run until 7 PM. That 4:30 closing is the single biggest reason visitors feel short-changed, so work backwards from it. From Whitefield, leave by 9 AM to be at the gate for opening.

From Whitefield by metro, wear your swimwear under your clothes and carry a sealed bag for the wet things. Lockers are free with a ₹500 cash deposit, so keep a ₹500 note separate from your UPI habits.

A team day at the water park

Whitefield's tech teams do a lot of resort offsites. A water park day is a cheaper, livelier alternative, and the Purple Line means nobody needs a car. Half the team can come from ITPL by train and the other half can meet them at Cubbon Park.

By road it's 60 to 90 minutes through KR Puram or along Old Airport Road, depending on the day. The metro is the better route. Board the Purple Line at Whitefield (Kadugodi) or any station along Whitefield Main Road, stay on the same train to Cubbon Park, and take a 3.4 km auto to the entrance opposite the TV Tower. Door to gate is about an hour, with no changes.

What to bring, and what you can't wear

Two things trip people up at the gate. First, swimwear must be 100% nylon. Cotton T-shirts, sarees, churidars, pyjamas and burkhas aren't allowed on the slides. Second, the locker deposit is ₹500 in cash only. The locker itself is free and you get the money back, but UPI won't work.

Beyond that, pack a towel and dry clothes, sunscreen, and lunch if you want to save money, since outside food is allowed. Changing rooms get busiest between 11:30 and 1, so arriving at opening helps.

Water World with kids

Yes, with one thing to check: height. Some slides require 122 cm (48 inches) or more, and every ride posts its own limit at the queue. Below that, the splash pools, lazy river and toddler zone keep little ones busy. Children under 80 cm go free, and those between 80 cm and 140 cm pay the child rate.

Tickets: one price, two parks

There's no separate water park ticket. One ticket covers Water World and the whole amusement park, with unlimited rides all day. Online, it's ₹999 for an adult and ₹799 for a child (80 to 140 cm) or senior citizen aged 60 and above. At the counter, adults pay ₹1,199 on weekdays and ₹1,499 at weekends and on public holidays. Children under 80 cm go free. All prices include 18% GST.
