Water Park Near Indiranagar: Water World at Palace Grounds

Water World at Fun World is about 9 km from Indiranagar, reachable in 25 to 40 minutes by road or four Purple Line stops and an auto. Expect a wave pool, a lazy river, the Tsunami and multi-lane slides, with lifeguards on each, from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The same ₹999 online ticket covers 100+ dry rides.

Indiranagar has rooftop bars and a gym on every block, but nowhere to spend a hot afternoon in a wave pool. The nearest proper water park is Water World at Fun World, about 9 km away at Palace Grounds, four metro stops and an auto ride from Indiranagar station.

It suits the neighbourhood's mix well. Couples and groups of friends come for the multi-lane slides and the Tsunami. Families from HAL 2nd Stage and Domlur come for the lazy river and splash pools.

The pools are open from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM with lifeguards on every attraction, and the ticket covers the dry rides until 7 PM, so the day carries on after you've dried off.

The slides, pools and rides at Water World

Water World is the water park half of Fun World, with around 45 water attractions on the same 24-acre site. The big ones are the Tsunami, which has the park's longest queue at about 45 minutes at busy times, and the Shark Ride. Around them are multi-lane slides, a wave pool, a lazy river and splash pools for younger children.

Trained lifeguards are on duty at every water attraction. There's cabana seating for anyone who'd rather watch, and live music and DJ sets on some days.

Leaving Indiranagar: plan around the 4:30 PM closing

Water World keeps shorter hours than the rest of Fun World: 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. To get the full six hours from Indiranagar, leave by 9:45 AM. Your ticket still covers the dry rides until 7 PM, so there's no rush to leave once the pools shut.

On the metro from Indiranagar, wear your swimwear under your clothes and carry just a dry change. Wet kit goes in a sealed bag. It makes the ride back from Cubbon Park far more pleasant.

A water park date from Indiranagar

Indiranagar has no shortage of dinner spots. It's shorter on dates where you actually do something. A day at Water World fills that gap: race each other down the multi-lane slides, ride the Tsunami, float the lazy river, then stay for the Roller Coaster and the Wind Mill until the park closes at 7.

By road, go west through Ulsoor and north through Cantonment to Jayamahal Road. It takes 25 minutes on a clear Sunday morning and up to 40 on a Saturday afternoon. The metro is the calmer option. Indiranagar station on the Purple Line is four stops from Cubbon Park, and from there it's a 3.4 km auto ride to the entrance opposite the TV Tower.

Dress code, lockers and what to pack

Two things trip people up at the gate. First, swimwear must be 100% nylon. Cotton T-shirts, sarees, churidars, pyjamas and burkhas aren't allowed on the slides. Second, the locker deposit is ₹500 in cash only. The locker itself is free and you get the money back, but UPI won't work.

Beyond that, pack a towel and dry clothes, sunscreen, and lunch if you want to save money, since outside food is allowed. Changing rooms get busiest between 11:30 and 1, so arriving at opening helps.

Bringing children from Indiranagar

Children under 80 cm enter free, and a child ticket covers 80 cm to 140 cm. Some of the bigger slides need a height of 122 cm, so shorter children will spend more time in the splash pools and the wave pool's shallow end. There's a dedicated toddler zone, and lifeguards are posted at every water attraction.

What it costs

There's no separate water park ticket. One ticket covers Water World and the whole amusement park, with unlimited rides all day. Online, it's ₹999 for an adult and ₹799 for a child (80 to 140 cm) or senior citizen aged 60 and above. At the counter, adults pay ₹1,199 on weekdays and ₹1,499 at weekends and on public holidays. Children under 80 cm go free. All prices include 18% GST.
