Water Park Near Rajajinagar: Water World at Fun World, 7 km Away

Water World at Fun World is about 7 km from Rajajinagar, 20 to 35 minutes by road via Malleshwaram. Expect a wave pool, a lazy river, the Tsunami and multi-lane slides, with lifeguards on each, from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The same ₹999 online ticket covers 100+ dry rides.

For west Bengaluru, the water park decision usually comes down to two options. Wonderla is out on Mysore Road. Water World at Fun World is 7 km away at Palace Grounds, through Malleshwaram.

From Rajajinagar, the second one is half an hour closer each way, and it lets you bring your own food. The metro works too: Green Line to Majestic, Purple Line to Cubbon Park, and a short auto ride.

Water World opens at 10:30 AM and closes at 4:30 PM, with a wave pool, a lazy river, multi-lane slides and around 45 water attractions. The dry rides stay open until 7 PM on the same ticket, so an evening on the roller coaster is included.

The slides, pools and rides at Water World

Water World is the water park half of Fun World, with around 45 water attractions on the same 24-acre site. The big ones are the Tsunami, which has the park's longest queue at about 45 minutes at busy times, and the Shark Ride. Around them are multi-lane slides, a wave pool, a lazy river and splash pools for younger children.

Trained lifeguards are on duty at every water attraction. There's cabana seating for anyone who'd rather watch, and live music and DJ sets on some days.

How to get six hours in the water from Rajajinagar

The pools open at 10:30 AM and close at 4:30 PM, two and a half hours before the rest of the park. From Rajajinagar, allow 20–35 min on the road and leave by 9:45 AM. Arriving at noon costs you a quarter of your water time.

If you're taking the metro from Rajajinagar, pack wet clothes in a zip-lock or a plastic bag inside your backpack. Nobody on the Purple Line at 5 PM wants to share a seat with a dripping towel.

Water World or a water park on Mysore Road?

From Rajajinagar, the two obvious water parks are Water World at Palace Grounds and Wonderla on Mysore Road. Here's how they compare from the west side.

Distance. Water World is about 7 km away, and Wonderla is roughly 30 km. Food. Fun World allows outside food; Wonderla doesn't. Price. Fun World is ₹999 online, covering both parks, and Wonderla costs more. Size. Wonderla is the bigger, newer park.

By car, cut through Malleshwaram to Sankey Road and on to Mekhri Circle and Jayamahal Road. That's 20 minutes on a clear morning and 35 when Dr Rajkumar Road and Sampige Road are busy. By metro, take the Green Line from Rajajinagar station to Majestic, switch to the Purple Line for three stops to Cubbon Park, and finish with a 3.4 km auto ride.

Before you leave Rajajinagar: the dress code and what to pack

Pack for the rules, not just the sun:

• 100% nylon swimwear for everyone going in the water. Sarees, churidars, pyjamas and burkhas aren't permitted on the slides, and swimwear is sold on site if you forget.
• A ₹500 note for the locker deposit. It's cash only and refunded when you return the key.
• A towel, a change of clothes and a bag for the wet things
• Your own food if you like. It's allowed; alcohol isn't.

Bringing children from Rajajinagar

Children under 80 cm enter free, and a child ticket covers 80 cm to 140 cm. Some of the bigger slides need a height of 122 cm, so shorter children will spend more time in the splash pools and the wave pool's shallow end. There's a dedicated toddler zone, and lifeguards are posted at every water attraction.

Water park tickets and prices

There's no separate water park ticket. One ticket covers Water World and the whole amusement park, with unlimited rides all day. Online, it's ₹999 for an adult and ₹799 for a child (80 to 140 cm) or senior citizen aged 60 and above. At the counter, adults pay ₹1,199 on weekdays and ₹1,499 at weekends and on public holidays. Children under 80 cm go free. All prices include 18% GST.
